Relive the days of the Railmotor service to the Lockyer Valley onboard our special “Silver Bullet Express” to Gatton on Sunday 25th August.
Departing from the historic Roma Street Station at 9.10am our 2000 Class Railmotor will travel through the western suburbs of Brisbane heading to Ipswich and then on to the historic Bigges Camp (Grandchester) Station. After making the climb up the Little Liverpool range we will the pass the farmlands and quaint Lockyer Valley townships before our arrival at Gatton at around 11.00am.
On arrival coaches will be waiting for the short trip to the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre where passengers will visit the QLD Transport Museum which features a magnificent display of approximately 24 forms of transport of various ages and over 200 models that explore the creations, founders and functions of the Western transport industry. It’s a fascinating educational experience for the young and old alike…
After then enjoying a complimentary beer, wine or soft drink lunch will be served in the Staging Post Restaurant consisting of an alternative drop Prosciutto wrapped chicken, roasted sweet potato, seasonal greens, garlic cream sauce or Beef sirloin, Lockyer Valley seasonal vegetables, red wine jus. Our mains will be followed by an alternative drop Sticky date pudding, butterscotch drizzle and double cream or Triple chocolate brownie, chocolate fudge sauce and cream. A complimentary tea and coffee station will be in operation. Passengers will be able to order additional drinks from the bar at their own cost.
Our coaches will then transfer passengers back to the Gatton Railway Station to re-join our Railmotor for the journey back to Brisbane for a 3.30pm arrival.
There will be two “lucky seat” prizes offered to passengers on-board.
1st Prize is a copy of “This is the Railway” valued at $85.00 and the runners up prize will be a copy of the brand new LOFT 7 Book “To the Scenic Rim” valued at $35.00.
